We've all heard the phrases " push the envelope" and "think outside the box" haven't we? In the Vermilion Parish town of Indian Bayou they have blasted open "the envelope" and I don't see "the box" anywhere in sight when it comes to the elementary school band's fundraising plans.

While some schools sell chocolate bars or gift wrap to generate money the Indian Bayou Elementary School Band is raising money from the bottom up. They are selling toilet paper.

It's a product that everyone needs and they seem to be selling a lot of it. Personally, I think the Vermilion Parish School Board should purchase their entire supply to help clean up after the year that they've had but that's a different story. And it stinks worse than anything that you would ever use toilet paper to clean.

If you'd like to help support these fine young musicians and their band program and you happen to need some TP (Trust me, you do) just call Indian Bayou Elementary at this number  (337) 334-4070. They will give you all the details. The cost of a 24 big roll pack is only $20. It's actually quite a nice bargain and you're helping out kids.

By the way orders and sales of the toilet tissue packs will conclude on October 23rd so you'll want to stock up now for the holidays or Halloween mischief. Hmmm, I wonder if anyone contemplated the correlation between toilet paper and Halloween. But hey, if it helps the kids I can support it.

The funds generated from the toilet paper sales will help send members of the Indian Bayou Beginner Band to  Vermilion Parish Band Day. Where they will have the opportunity to show off their skills and learn new ones.
