Three Killed In Industrial Explosion In DeRidder

Three people are dead and many more were injured in an industrial explosion in Deridder this morning.

KPLC-TV reports the explosion occurred at the Packaging Corporation of America plant at around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Two tanks exploded at the former Boise paper mill causing the fatalities and injuries.

Beauregard Parish Sheriff's officials say the area has been contained and there is no fire.

Law enforcement are re-routing traffic near the scene on U.S. 190 to accommodate emergency personnel and vehicles.
