Thieves Forget to Shut Trunk in Getaway from Bayou Vista Business

Two unidentified men are still on the loose after St. Mary Parish Sheriff's deputies say they stole tools from a local business in Bayou Vista on April 8, 2021, but forgot to shut the trunk as they left in the getaway vehicle.

According to a Facebook post, the suspects nearly crashed into another driver as they sped out of the parking lot. That driver, though, was able to grab her phone and take pictures of the getaway vehicle. With the trunk not being locked, tools began falling out on Highway 90!

Authorities believe it's possible that the two suspects are possibly connected to another theft at the same business a few days ago. The red vehicle in the photos above are of a vehicle with a temporary tag that may be from the first incident.
