New ‘The Walking Dead’ 2015 Trailer: “We Do What We Need to Do, and Then We Get to Live!”
‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 previewed its 2015 return by shouting angrily into the mist a few weeks ago, but the latest trailer for AMC’s February 8 premiere will stir much more passion. Thunderstorms rage, and zombies litter the streets in the latest trailer for ‘The Walking Dead’ season 5's return!
“We do what we need to do, and then we get to live,” warns an increasingly-bearded Rick Grimes as the group takes shelter in the aftermath of 2014's “Coda.” Elsewhere among the 30-second spot, it looks as if the group will take refuge from the walkers in the midst of a blaring thunderstorm, while another scenes sees the dead littering the road, and forcing the group to plow through.
So reads the latest synopsis for season 5's back half:
After the tragic events of the mid-season finale–as well as losing the possibility of a cure in Washington, DC–Rick Grimes’ band of survivors find themselves on the road, surviving day to day and trying to hold on to their shredded humanity and dwindling hope.
Stripped of security and without a direction for the future, some of the group near their breaking point, some find themselves hardened and cold and some just try to grasp on to what little they have left.
Though they are still breathing, the line between Rick’s group and the dead is starting to blur.
Could there be anything at this point that brings them back to life?
Showrunner Scott Gimple previously teased that the group will undergo a “huge change” in situation, both visually and story-wise, which would seem to resemble a famous comic location emerging around this time. In addition to Ross Marquand’s casting as a new mystery man, we’ve also yet to meet ‘American Horror Story’ star Alexandra Breckinridge’s character, who has been said to recur.
