‘The Walking Dead’s David Morrissey To Govern AMC Drama ‘Line Of Sight,’ Uh-Oh!
Fans of AMC's 'The Walking Dead' were surprised enough that David Morrissey's villainous Governor survived the year to menace Rick Grimes again in season 4, but has a new casting confirmed the Governor's number to be up? Morrissey has officially joined upcoming AMC sci-fi pilot 'Line of Sight' in a leading role, and something tells us even the Governor can't be two places at once! Well, without a sword, anyway.
Deadline confirmed the news that Morrissey would join creator Blake Masters and 'Silence of the Lambs' director Jonathan Demme for 'Line of Sight,' playing National Transportation Safety Board investigator Lewis Bernt. The character survives a mysterious plane crash, and undertakes emotionally disorienting quest to discover the accident’s cause.
“We are huge fans of David Morrissey," said AMC in a statement on the casting. "[We're glad he’ll be doing double duty for AMC viewers through his work on The Walking Dead and our pilot for Line Of Sight, both of which are produced in Atlanta.” The popularity of Morrisey's portrayal of the dastardly 'Walking Dead' character no doubt influenced writers to keep him around for another season as a series regular, though it wouldn't take any spoilers to imagine the character meeting an ultimate end some time before the end of the fourth season.
While we await the latest details from ‘The Walking Dead’ season 4, the next run of the AMC horror-drama will introduce ‘The Wire’ star Lawrence Gilliard, Jr. as comic character Bob Stookey, and upgrade actors Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green and Emily Kinney to series regulars. The series is confirmed to have begun casting three new roles exceptionally familiar to comic fans, and let’s not forget AMC’s recent sneak peek clip!
Well, what say you? Is David Morrissey's casting in AMC's new 'Line of Sight' pilot confirmation the Governor will lose more than another eye on the coming season of 'The Walking Dead?' Stay tuned for the latest from the October 13 premiere, and tell us what you want to see Morrissey take on next in the comments!
