6,000 students crammed into a space made for 4,000. Horrible conditions. Even worse experiments.

Willowbrook State School a state funded school for children with intellectual disabilities. It was located on Staten Island in New York. It was opened in 1947. It was closed in 1987 after Geraldo Rivera brought to light the conditions, questionable medical practices, and horrid experiments going on at the school.

A portion of the school was then used by the College of Staten Island starting in the 90's, where it is still open today.

The video only scratches the surface. If you want to really dive in, definitely check out more on the "school." You can even watch the full 30 minute segment that Geraldo did.
