Louisiana State University has chosen a contractor for growing, making the possibility of medical marijuana production in the state more probable.

According to WWLTV, the contract with GB Sciences will be discussed by the university governing board on Thursday and if all goes well the LSU AgCenter will be one step closer the authorized growing of medical marijuana.

LSU's hope is to get medicinal-grade marijuana to eligible patients by next year. These patients include "people with cancer, a severe form of cerebral palsy, seizure disorders, epilepsy, muscular dystrophy and other diseases".
