Ted Bundy Movie Is Not A Celebration Or Glorification Says Zac Efron
High School Musical Heart Throb Zac Efron enters into new territory as Ted Bundy in the upcoming feature film, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
Efron's controversial role as Bundy has not been received without backlash, however, as many condemn the actor for acting in a film that glamorizes and romanticizes a notorious serial killer and his actions.
Here is a video discussing the backlash from Good Morning America
In response to the backlash of films, Zac Efron told Variety in an interview:
“I feel a responsibility to make sure that this movie is not a celebration of Ted Bundy, or a glorification of him. But, definitely, a psychological study of who this person was. In that, there’s honesty.”
Some fans seem to feel the same way and took to social media to defend the actor and director for creating a movie of this caliber.
The new film does not have a release date yet, but both Efron and Director Joe Berlinger say the film is an accurate depiction of who Bundy was and how he was able to get away with many of his montrous acts.
