Vermilion Parish Superintendent Jerome Puyau gives an emotional interview following teacher Deyshia Hargrave's arrest after being removed from a school board meeting.

Puyau spoke with CBS This Morning about the incident, what he should have done, and what he plans to do going forward.

The superintendent tearfully admitted that the backlash has been hard. He admits that he should have stood up when Hargrave was being removed so that she could speak.

He also says that in the next few months he plans to present to the board a plan to "bring a raise."

It is not shown in the piece if Puyau was asked about the raise that he received, but it is mentioned that he makes lower than the average salary in the state. It is also mentioned that the teachers make less than the state average as well.

What do you think of the superintendent taking the blame for the handling of the situation and his plan to bring a raise to the teachers?
