Sgt. Steve Perez, who was with Houston Police Department for 34 years, drowned while trying to report to his station.
According to KTRK out of Houston, Sunday, Sgt. Perez drove for two and a half hours in order to try to find a route to his station. Following protocol, he then headed toward a second station in Kingwood.
When he didn't show up to the second station by the Monday morning, it was apparent that something was wrong.
