The University of Louisiana at Lafayette announced today that they will be closed on both Wednesday, August 26th and Thursday, August 27th due to Hurricane Laura. Classes will resume remotely on Friday, August 28th.
The earlier start date is one of several changes the University has made to its academic calendar as it prepares for the safe resumption of on-campus instruction and housing and residential life in the fall.

In the 1960s, USL Men's Basketball coach Beryl Shipley stepped out in a big way against the South's unspoken rules on athletic integration. Losing was just not something Shipley was OK with, and he did everything he felt he could to be a winner.
