While singer Adam Gontier shocked his fans by announcing his departure from Three Days Grace yesterday (Jan. 9), he's not retiring from the stage entirely. The vocalist will play his first show since leaving the band next Thursday (Jan. 17) as part of the special acoustic 'Rock for Recovery' benefit for victims of Hurricane Sandy at New York's Gramercy Theatre.

As Three Days Grace fans continue to absorb the surprising news from earlier today (Jan. 9) that frontman Adam Gontier has left the band, the singer himself has released a heartfelt letter explaining his departure.

The rock world was definitely in shock earlier today (Jan. 9), learning that not only was Adam Gontier exiting his post as singer of Three Days Grace, but that the band had already selected My Darkest Days frontman Matt Walst to replace him on their upcoming tour.

Tis the season to give back, and Three Days Grace will be doing so on three consecutive nights in their hometown of Peterborough, Ontario next month. The group has revealed a series of shows, promoted as "Three Days of Giving," with all the proceeds going to a different charity each night.

This month marks two years since ‘Life Starts Now’ hit the streets, and frontman Adam Gontier has hinted that the next 3DG album might beat the full three-year mark by several months.
