Comedy duo Tenacious D beat out Mastodon, Anthrax, Motorhead and Slipknot to win the Best Metal Performance Grammy.

The nominees for the 57th annual Grammy Awards were announced Friday, with Anthrax, Mastodon, Motorhead, Slipknot and Tenacious D earning metal nods.

Tenacious D have just announced the lineup for their 2014 annual Festival Supreme, and it's a great one if you like both music and comedy.

Actor Jack Black and Kyle Gass brought their comedy meets rock band hybrid Tenacious D to the House of Blues at the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas, Nev. over the weekend (July 28). However, it was anything but laughs after a fight broke out in the crowd leaving one concert-goer the victim of a stabbing.

It takes a certain mindset to survive life on the road, and Tenacious D may have just found the perfect roadie. In the group’s latest video, ‘The Roadie,’ none other than ‘Eastbound and Down’ star Danny McBride comes to the duo in their hour of need as Sebastian, the seemingly ultimate stage tech.

It's been 6 whole years since Tenacious D's 'The Pick Of Destiny' was released. After a long while, the D gives us their next studio album titled 'Rize Of The Fenix'! Here is the official video for the title track after the jump!

Apparently Val Kilmer (who just so happened to play one of my all time favorite characters, Doc Holliday in Tombstone) has a Tumblr. And on said Tumblr, posted a picture of him with Jack Black and Kyle Gass, aka Tenacious D, with the caption reading, "Newest member of Tenacious D!" Check out the pic after the jump!

The Fenix will rize in May and so will the D. Tenacious D, the humorous, metal-inspired act lead by actor/comedian Jack Black and his partner-in-crime Kyle Gass, will dust off their picks of destiny in order to release their third album, ‘Rize of the Fenix.’ The mock rockers plan to release the album in May.
