We already know that Stranger Things 3 will take us to 1985 for all the Back to the Future references therein, but the stars won’t be the only ones with new looks. Fresh intel on the third season reveals a lot more sun and fun in store for the Hawkins crew, at least before “things inevitably turn super dark.”
No one was exactly surprised that Stranger Things’ breakout success would lead to additional episodes in Season 2, though at least one felt pretty extraneous. Well, we can expect a tighter turnaround in Season 3, as producers officially confirm the next round of episodes will be trimming down.
There’s nothing strange about cozying up with a new Dave Chappelle special on New Year’s Eve, but there’s something Stranger about its first teaser. See for yourself, as the first look at Chappelle’s Equanimity gets turned up to Eleven.
The TV world is understandably a bit Upside Down with the release of Stranger Things 2, so leave it to Sesame Street to be polite with its latest parody. Oscar, Grover, Ernie and the gang will all pull off their own Stranger Things, as announced in a new teaser for Thanksgiving.
After-show specials for today’s biggest TV are pretty old-hat by now, but it’s another matter when Netflix attempts one with its all-at-once binge model. As such, Stranger Things will go Beyond with Netflix’s first stab at a post-binge talk show, launching alongside the new season.
Let’s just get this out of the way up front: Yes, the highly-anticipated second season of Stranger Things is coming to Netflix in October. If you’re a fan of the ’80s throwback sci-fi series, that’s probably the only new release you’re thinking about right now...
Who needs Comic-Con? Netflix’s Stranger Things may debut new looks at Season 2 from their San Diego perch, but our first poster for the new big bad is right here, along with an earlier October premiere than expected.
Not much is known of the second season of Stranger Things, but – then again – Season 1 didn’t offer terribly many answers. At least one thing’s for sure: if you thought the Demogorgon was scary, producer Shawn Levy says the giant threat of Stranger Things 2 will make the gangly monster seem “quaint” by comparison.
Netflix is keeping understandably quiet on Stranger Things 2, but one wonders if we’ll endure the same wait for an official renewal as before. At the very least, the Duffer brothers seem to be overflowing with ideas, as director Shawn Levy claims portions of Season 2 had to be trimmed for a potential third season.
While there’s no official release date yet (although it’s rumored to hit in 2018), Deadpool 2 is gearing up to start filming pretty soon. We don’t know much about the plot or any new characters other than the fact that Cable is going to be in it, which is something we’ve known since the first Deadpool movie teased it after the credits. But as to who’s playing Cable, it’s anyone’s guess at this point as the movie is only just starting to round out their cast. A few days ago, Deadpool’s creator Rob Liefeld wanted Russell Crowe to play the part, which was probably just a bit of industry fancasting. But now we know that one of the names on the list of possibilities is none other than Stranger Things’ David Harbour.
No one was particularly surprised that Netflix would come through with a Season 2 renewal for Stranger Things, though they took things a step further to reveal all nine of its cryptic Season 2 episode titles. Or did they? Creators admit that the final products may end us with different names than the ones we’ve spent months speculating over, precisely because we’ve spent months speculating over them.
Sunday’s Stranger Things Season 2 Trailer premiere gave us quite a bit to chew on, but the Halloween premiere is going to the next year pretty torturous. Thankfully, even more new photos have emerged, as well as plot details for the ambitious new year, and even a hint at what new creatures we might be seeing.
As if 2017 weren’t already strange enough, Stranger Things will be kicking off the countdown to Season 2 this very Super Bowl Sunday. A first photo from the sequel season sees the gang decked out in Ghosbusters regalia, with the promise of an official Stranger Things 2 teaser during the big game.
Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer original cut their teeth with FOX’s M. Night Shyamalan-produced Wayward Pines, and now the Sixth Sense and Split director may be looking for them to return the favor. By his own admission, Shyamalan is game to direct an episode of Stranger Things, but is it already too late?
One of the things we learned in our extensive look at Stranger Things’ Demogorgon concept art was just how much engineers thought to realize the creature practically. Now, gruesome behind-the-scenes photos and videos from production show just how the Upside Down monster looked as a terrifying physical effect.
