You can see a similarity on every "Episode" poster from the Star Wars Saga. The poster for The Last Jedi either changes the game, or is trying to tell us something.

Director Rian Johnson proudly announced on Instagram that the latest chapter of the space opera saga has been edited to completion.

For those who engage in it, speculating on the significance of obscure clues in the Star Wars universe has gone beyond a hobby and grown into a way of life. Even something as simple as a three-word phrase — one word of which is “the” — can spark months of obsessive investigation. And while George Lucas’ disciples will have to wait until December to finally learn the identity of The Last Jedi’s title figure, that has not stopped the dogged gumshoes of Vanity Fair from pumping key figures for information.

Though it felt kind of wrong, when Carrie Fisher died in December a lot of us wondered how the Star Wars movies would weather her loss. Had she finished shooting all her scenes? (She had, at least for Episode 8.) How integral to the plot of Episodes 8 and 9 was Leia going to be? Would the story need to be changed to accommodate for her absence? Some wondered if her likeness would be Tarkin’d onto a body stand-in for the final movie, which felt wrong even to think about. (It’s not happening, thankfully.) Lucasfilm has a lot to consider after losing one of its biggest stars, but it sounds like none of The Last Jedi is going to be changed because of her death.

According to an LA Times reporter who was in on Disney's annual shareholders meeting, they were shown some footage from the new Star Wars movie, which hits theaters December 15th.

We’ve got 11 long months to go before anyone will get a look at Star Wars: Episode VIII, so Lucasfilm has tried to pace itself with leaking details of the hotly anticipated upcoming release. Today, however, they dropped a big one: on the official Star Wars web site, a new announcement revealed the subtitle for the eighth installment in what the site refers to as “the Skywalker saga.” The post declared, “We have the greatest fans in this or any other galaxy. In appreciation of the fans, we wanted them to be the first to know the title of the next chapter in the Skywalker saga: STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI.”

Filming on Star Wars: Episode VIII has been nearing an end for the past few weeks, as we’ve seen via set photos from director Rian Johnson and Daisy Ridley. As of today, Johnson has officially wrapped production on the upcoming sequel, sharing a very brief video featuring the final slate from the final shot in the film along with a special message of thanks to his cast and crew.

It’s no secret that production on the new Star Wars trilogy has been, well, top secret. Although director Rian Johnson has shared a few photos from the set of Episode VIII, they haven’t been particularly revelatory, as everything from the plot to the costumes has been shrouded in secrecy. That includes Daisy Ridley’s hair — quite literally, as you can see in a new video in which the actress shows off her workout routine.

Star Wars Episode VIII is currently filming in Portmagee, Ireland, and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) stopped into a local pub and poured some pints!
