Some of my favorite parts about SNL over the years is when the actors break character. This can sometimes help a mediocre sketch turn into one of the funniest of the season. Jimmy Fallon was famous for breaking character, but it happened to the best of them. From Will Ferrell to Phil Hartman. Check out the hilarious video of SNL actors breaking character!

Some SNL hosts just feel like they were born to be on that stage and Zach Galifiankis is one of them. Rather than do a traditional monologue, he performed six minutes of his oddball, avant garde stand-up comedy. It was a great reminder that he may be a big movie star now, but he's still one of the great modern comedians.
