Earlier this year, Seether revealed they were working on three new tracks that would be released in 2013. But instead of being part of a new album, those songs will be included on 'Seether 2002-2013,' a 27-song, two-disc career retrospective to be released Oct. 29.

Seether have been laying low lately but the rock trio recently took to Twitter to give fans the lowdown on what’s going on in their world including the prospect of some new music in the near future.

This time a decade ago, South Africa wasn’t exactly known for turning out hard rock bands. Now, a decade later, Seether have become one of the most successful and steadily consistent hard rock bands going. It all started on Aug. 20, 2002, when the group issued their ‘Disclaimer’ album, and it set them on the path to where they are today.

Seether‘s first-ever Rise Above Fest is just a few weeks away and the band could use your help. The group is looking for a few enterprising fans to shoot a promo spot talking about teen suicide prevention.

Seether are the latest act to organize their own festival, but this one has an extra angle to it. The band is using the platform to put the spotlight on a cause as well as showcasing a great day of music.

After a series of comical photos were posted to Seether‘s Facebook page, the band shared a couple of really unusual images (above) where frontman Shaun Morgan had swapped faces with ex-girlfriend and Evanescence singer Amy Lee.

Seether had an interesting year in 2011 with the departure of their guitarist Troy McLawhorn, who returned to Evanescence. Seether have had much success with their latest album ‘Holding Onto Things Better Left to Fray,’ and now the disc’s debut single ‘Country Song’ has been named Billboard’s Active Rock Song of the Year and Mediabase’s No. 1 active rock song of 2011 in terms of airplay.

Guitarist Troy McLawhorn has returned to Evanescence, the band he left in 2008 to join Seether. As you know, Seether singer Shawn Morgan Dated Amy Lee of Evanescence for a couple of years until their "not so nice" split. As a result, Mr. Morgan is pretty ticked off about the situation.

Looks like Seether is set to release their new album ‘Holding on the Strings Better Left to Fray‘ on May 23rd. The first single, “Country Song” will be released on March 8th.

During a recent interview, Seether guitarist Troy McLawhorn and drummer John Humphrey confirmed the band will be releasing a new album titled "Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray" in May.  The first single from the album, rumored to be titled “No Resolution” is due out in March.
