The city of Scott has announced they are making sandbags available today for residents of Scott due to rising water and flooding potential throughout the area.
With all of South Louisiana closely watching the tropical system in the Gulf Of Mexico this week, many of you are already preparing for flooding just in case. Sandbags are already being made available in many places around Acadiana. I just came across this video demonstrating a simple idea that could help you fill sandbags faster than ever.
Mother Nature got fired up a round 4:00am this morning with some serious rain, winds and hail all across Acadiana. We sure hope you and your family are safe. Not sure how this will all shake out, because it looks like rain for the rest of our Sunday. Below is a list of road closures and sandbag information we have at this time.
Sandbags can be found in the following locations:
Lafayette at North Barn at 130 Shantel Road , and the South Barn at 1017 Fortune Road.
Ville Platte at 809 West Hickory Street.
