Sometime over the last couple of months, writer-director Shane Black slipped onto Twitter without very many people noticing. While admittedly a bit of a neophyte when it comes to social media, Black has immediately grasped the most important aspects of the platform. Jon Stewart said goodbye to The Daily Show last night in equal parts star-studded and quiet, personal fashion as former correspondents like Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, John Oliver and Olivia Munn returned to pay their respects, while Bruce Springsteen closed out the slow with a performance — at Stewart’s request — of his 1999 song “The Land of Hopes and Dreams” and, for his fellow New Jerseyan, “Born to Run”.
As films like 'The Conjuring' and 'The Last Exorcism' (Parts 1 and 2) tackled the exorcism/possession horror tale in new and, primarily in the case of the former, interesting ways, so too is 'Deliver Us From Evil,' the new trailer for which takes exorcism to the streets. If you can get past Eric Bana's New Yawkah accent and the fact that Olivia Munn is his wife, you'll be in for a scare or two.
