Local officials from Iberia, Lafayette, and St. Martin Parishes joined together on Thursday to announce that the Economic Development Administration has awarded LUS Fiber with a $3.1 million grant to expand fiber optic services along the U.S. 90 corridor.

I spoke with the contractors doing the installation, and it seems that t here's much more to burying cable than it seems.
