We’ve been hearing since last summer that good ol’ Darth Vader will be making an appearance in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and given just how consistent this rumor has been, it’s starting to seem as though we can pretty much accept this particular cameo as fact. A new report offers more details on the Vader appearance in Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars prequel / spinoff, and while we’ll keep taking it with a grain of salt, it’s getting harder to not buy into it.

We weren't altogether surprised to learn that 'Star Wars Rebels' would incorporate the iconic Darth Vader at some point, though the news that James Earl Jones would reprise the role on October 26 certainly caught our attention. Now, the first look at 'Rebels' Vader has arrived from yet another legendary figure behind the character, and with a slightly updated design.

'Star Wars Rebels' officially premiered its "Spark of Rebellion" last week to great fanfare, with the series proper to continue on Disney XD this Monday, but already the animated prequel series is making a major link to the 'Star Wars' movies. Not only will Darth Vader cameo in a newly-added premiere scene, but so too will James Earl Jones return to the role!
