36-year-old Terrell Batiste is behind bars after he allegedly shot to death 32-year-old Dextel George Friday morning.

The woman was found by someone who went to check on her welfare Sunday.

Deputies found a female body in a home in the 400 block of Lagneaux Road. Officials are investigating the case and searching for the suspect, Miles Joseph Guidry.

Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputies are reporting one person is dead in what they believe to be a homicide in Duson. Deputies are currently on the scene conducting an investigation.
