The community in Sulphur is mourning the loss of a young woman who was killed in a car crash just hours after graduating from Sulphur High on Saturday.
Sad news out of St. Landry Parish as Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says that his office investigated a fatality of a pedestrian that was hit by a train on Friday, January 21.
According to Louisiana State Police, the pedestrian was walking southbound on the Frontage Road near mile marker 9 when they were hit and fatally injured.
According to Lafayette Fire Department spokesperson Alton Trahan, they responded to a reported house fire last night at 227 Benjamin Street shortly before 8:40 pm. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the house was fully engulfed.
