STM catcher Chase Vallot, who was drafted 40th overall by the Kansas City Royals last week, has been named the Louisville Slugger high school player of the year, as well as a first-team All-American.

Baseball America released the complete list of Louisville Slugger high school All-Americans earlier today.

Vallot's trophy room already has some hardware. The District MVP was named the Gatorade Louisiana High School baseball player of the year back in late March.

Leading STM to a 4A state championship this season, the 6'1, 205 pound Vallot sported a ridiculous .545 batting average, hitting 15 doubles, 1 triple, 13 home runs and 62 RBI, while scoring 45 runs.

All-Americans and POY are nominated by their head coaches. The staff at Collegiate Baseball then votes on the team.
