St. Martinville Man Accused of Sexually Abusing Juvenile

60-year-old Leonard James Lasseigne of St. Martinville has been arrested following a sexual abuse charge reported almost two months ago.

In a press release, St. Martin Parish Sheriff Becket Breaux says deputies have been investigating the alleged sexual abuse of a juvenile that was reported to his office on December 14, 2020. Lasseigne was arrested Tuesday morning on the following charges:

• 1 Count-LA. R.S. 14:81-Indecent Behavior With Juvenile (Felony)
• 1 Count-LA. R.S. 14:81.2-Molestation of a Juvenile-(Felony)

Lasseigne now sits in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center with no bond set at this time.
