Hard to believe, but production on Justice League, which doesn’t hit theaters until next fall, is already nearing an end — at least according to Zack Snyder, who shared a new photo revealing Batman’s latest costume upgrade. What, you didn’t really think Batman would make another on-screen appearance without getting a fancy new super-suit, did you?

It’s the sunglasses that really make this suit and say, “I’m not like a regular Batman, I’m a cool Batman”:

As evidenced by the new Justice League logo and that photo of Jason Momoa shredding on a guitar, Ben Affleck’s Batman isn’t just uniting a team of superheroes — he’s forming a heavy metal cover band. So despite how uptight he may have seemed in Batman v Superman, this Dark Knight wants you to know that he’s a real cool dude…you know, like most dads.

Kidding aside, let’s talk about the actual suit for a second: It’s definitely more defined and angular than his casual Bat-wear, and it appears to be entirely black, which is more in keeping with contemporary on-screen Bat-men. This suit means business — although, I’m having a hard time imagining what could be more serious than Affleck’s Batman in Dawn of Justice.

Speaking of which, in a recent interview, newly-appointed DC Films head Geoff Johns promised that Justice League would bring some optimism and hope to the franchise, while addressing Batman’s more violent tendencies in Dawn of Justice. I mean, he is wearing sunglasses now, so perhaps he’s picked up some chill.

Justice League also features Henry Cavill’s Superman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Ezra Miller’s The Flash and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, along with Amy Adams, J.K. Simmons, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons and Willem Dafoe. The film is set to hit theaters on November 17, 2017.
