A comprehensive smoke-free ordinance will help to protect all Lafayette employees and patrons from the harms of second hand smoke.

Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 5:30 pm, the Lafayette City Council will hold a public comment session on a smoke-free ordinance. The American Lung Association wants all Lafayette residents, workers and tourists to breathe smoke free air.

If you have an opinion on whether bars and restaurants should be smoke-free to protect the employees and patrons or if you own a bar/restaurant, this as an opportunity for you to express your concerns.

During the meeting, the council members need to hear from experts in the field, residents and business owners on how the proposed Lafayette smoke-free ordinance will affect both them and city. The council meeting will be held at 705 West University Avenue, Lafayette, LA 70506.

Join us at this important meeting to express your support for a healthier Lafayette for everyone! We need everyone's help.  Please feel free to share with family members, friends, community partners and other colleagues!
