Smashing Pumpkins frontman and pro-wrestling fanatic Billy Corgan is working on creating a reality TV show focused on his new Chicago-based wrestling company Resistance Pro — and he reveals that he’s been doing a lot of “behind-the-scenes stuff” to make it happen.

“We just signed a deal with a big reality show producer,” Corgan tells Major League Wrestling Radio. “A guy with an incredible track record. We’re in good hands.” The singer has had “like nine or ten meetings” with various people about the project, which he feels is perfect fodder for the boob tube. ”A lot of them wanted to know if this would be your typical manufactured reality show, and I told them that with a wrestling company, you don’t have to manufacture reality. There’s plenty of it to go around.”

“We believe that wrestling is fascinating on many, many levels. Socially, politically, even economically,” adds Corgan. “The struggles independent wrestlers go through to try to find work, those are real struggles that anybody can identify with. We want to show what goes on in a wrestling company behind the scenes.”

In addition to his wrestling work, Corgan and the Pumpkins are gearing up for the June 19 release of ‘Oceania,’ their first album since 2007′s ‘Zeitgeist.’
