Slipknot Prepping Greatest Hits Release, Working On New Demos
Shedding a little more light on the mysterious ‘Antennas To Hell’ teaser video posted on Roadrunner Records’ official site earlier today (May 29), Slipknot’s Corey Taylor has revealed information about the upcoming release on Twitter. He also tweeted that the band is working on new demos.
In his Tweet, Taylor spilled the beans on the release, saying it will be a greatest-hits package, but left another item, dubbed ‘HoGaB’ a mystery: “11 days till the meaning of HoGaB is revealed. And I believe 7.17.12 is when the Slipknot greatest hits album drops.”
That date of the greatest-hits release would coincide nicely with the Rockstar Mayhem Festival that Slipknot will be headlining. The tour also includes Slayer, Motorhead, Anthrax and several other bands.
No details on the greatest-hits package have been released yet, but the teaser video below alludes to the fact that remixes will be included. That could mean a double disc set of greatest hits and remixes, a single disc of hits with a few remixes, or something completely different. No matter what the configuration, Slipknot fans will probably buy it in droves.
The greatest hits album will have to tide fans over until Slipknot releases new material. In another tweet, Taylor revealed Slipknot is currently demoing new material, but not recording yet. They are set to enter the studio in early 2013 to begin recording their next album.
