It was reported earlier this month that 'The Dark Knight Rises' would have six minutes of it's footage shown in front of 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' in all IMAX theaters. That was retracted and subsequently reissued saying that it was going to be only in select IMAX theaters. According to Empire Online:

We say 'selected' because according to US cinema chain AMC Theaters, only full
70mm screens, rather than digital theatres, would be entitled to show the
footage. There's no word on whether UK IMAX screens will also be showing the
prologue.

It's a bit of a surprise to see the ever-secretive Christopher
Nolan laying his Bat-cards on the table - six minutes of footage is, after all,
a decent chunk of scene-setting - but we're definitely not complaining. It's not
a new strategy for Warner Bros. either. The studio showed off the opening
minutes of The Dark Knight before screenings of I Am
Legend
four years ago.

Unfortunately for us Louisianians, we won't be getting to see it at home...The closest IMAX theater to the Acadiana area is in New Orleans, but I took the liberty of calling and checking with them, and they said they don't have any plans of showing 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol'. Sounds like it's time for a road trip as  M:I4 hits theaters on December 21st!

Would I drive hours away just to see six minutes of 'The Dark Knight Rises'? You bet your booty I would!
