William Shakespeare's grave was scanned with ground-penetrating radar, and it's believed that his skull isn't there!

There's been speculation for a really long time (since the 1800's at LEAST), that his skull wasn't there due to grave robbing from the 16th century, when it was popular to do so.

Even Shakespeare's grave site is strange. His name is on a headstone. The only thing there is a threatening little poem that reads:

“Good friend, for Jesus’ sake forbear, to dig the dust enclosed here. Blessed be the man that spares these stones, And cursed be he that moves my bones.”

An archaeologist and his team were allowed to use ground-penetrating radar to scan the grave of Shakespeare. When they got near where they believed his skull to be, they found signs of interference instead of a skull. This made them believe the rumors that his skull had indeed been stolen.
