Saggy Pants Ordinance To Be Proposed In Opelousas
To some it's simply the style of the times. To others it's borderline and in many cases indecent exposure. It's a question of where the waistline of a persons pants should settle about the body. The issue is expected to be brought up tonight in Opelousas as Chief of Police Donald Thompson will address the city council.
According to a report from our news partner KATC, the Chief believes that 70% of the citizens of that town will support his ordinance. That ordinance would make both men and women found guilty of wearing their pants too low subject to a fine of $200 and a possible 30 day jail term.
Chief Thompson is expected to bring the ordinance before the council at tonight's meeting starting at 5pm. The ordinance is structured very similarly to an ordinance already in place in the city of Ville Platte.
