Roger Waters has released a short clip from his upcoming Us + Them movie, which will be screened in theaters on October 2 and 6 following its premiere at the Venice International Film Festival next week.

The excerpt sees Waters and his band performing the Pink Floyd track “Pigs (Three Different Ones)” during their four-night residency in the Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam, Netherlands in June last year.

You can watch the clip below:

“I’m so looking forward to the launch of the movie,” Waters told LouderSound.com. “Us + Them is not standard rock ’n’ roll fare. Some in the audience may ‘yee-ha!’ which is okay, but many will weep. That is what I hope for.” Describing the movie as a “call to action” he added: “Homo sapiens stand at a crossroads – we can either pool our love, develop our capacity to empathize with others and act collectively for the good of our planet, or we can remain Comfortably Numb, and continue, like blind lemmings, on our current homicidal death march towards extinction. Us + Them is a vote for love and life.”

The movie synopsis reads: “Roger Waters, co-founder, creative force and songwriter behind Pink Floyd, presents his highly anticipated film, Us + Them, featuring state-of- the-art visual production and breathtaking sound in this unmissable cinema event. … [T]he film features songs from his legendary Pink Floyd albums (The Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, Animals, Wish You Were Here) and from his last album, Is This The Life We Really Want? Waters collaborates once more with Sean Evans, visionary director of the highly acclaimed movie, Roger Waters The Wall, to deliver this creatively pioneering film that inspires with its powerful music and message of human rights, liberty and love.”
