The remains of a Louisiana woman, missing since April, are believed to have been found in Grand Canyon National Park.

Officials say that park rangers found the remains of 22-year-old Diana Zacarias of Natchitoches below Pima Point while conducting training this past Saturday (July 30).

Zacarias' family reported her missing on April 3rd, and a multi-day search was conducted. She had arrived on the South Rim on April 2nd.

Officials say the tentative identification comes from items found at the scene. The remains have been transferred to the Coconino County medical examiner for positive identification.

The medical examiner, and National Park Service are conducting an investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
