Lafayette Woman Freaks Out in Viral Video of Rats Climbing the Walls at Lowe’s
A Lafayette woman looking to do a little home improvement got quite the surprise at a local Lowe's store.
Janet Calaway spotted something moving recently at a local Lowe's location. When she realized what she was seeing, she pulled out her camera to hit record.
You can hear Calaway audibly shriek as she filmed large rats crawling up and down the walls in the back of a warehouse near shelving. Her video is tagged at the Lowe's location on Ambassador Caffery, and by the looks of the clip she seems to be in the garden center area as boxes of weed killer and fire ant powder seem to be visible on the shelves near the rats.
Rats are never a welcome sight, but rodents are fairly common in warehouse settings (especially remote areas that are a shared indoor/outdoor space. Janet's video has been shared over 1,000 times and some of the comments shared similar experiences at the same Ambassador Caffery Lowe's location.
Someone else mentioned that he regularly sees rats at stores like this. Others mentioned the rats are even bigger in the outdoor gardening areas.
Many saw the irony of the rats hanging out in the area of the store where the poisons and repellents were stocked.
Others suggested a different type of "rodent control."
Other people just had jokes.
LOTS of jokes.
I reached out to the Lowe's on Ambassador Caffery this weekend to ask them if they knew about the rats and/or the viral video and the person who I spoke to said she was not aware.
The associate took my information and we're still waiting on word back from management.
