The Sentinelese are one of the last groups of people without direct contact from the outside world.

The island that they inhabit, North Sentinel Island, is one of the Andaman Islands in the Bay of Bengal in India.

They are thought to be descendants of the first of mankind that walked out of Africa. They have inhabited the island for nearly 60,000 years.

Some have tried to make contact with them, but were met with hostility. The video talks of one group of people in the early 90's that did make contact with them, and they seemed pleased. There's even some video of the interactions.

As late as 2006, two fishermen were killed when they were fishing illegally in the area, and their boat came too close to the island. It has been outlawed to come within three miles of the island, as the Indian government has thought them better left alone.
