Queens Of The Stone Age Are "Locked In The Desert" Making New Album
Queens of the Stone Age, who last released an album in 2007 in the form of ‘Era Vulgaris’ and whose frontman and lead guitarist Josh Homme went on to moonlight in Them Crooked Vultures with Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones, are creeping back into action. The band (or someone from its camp) emerged from the blazing hot desert and the studio to issue a Facebook update and some news. The band was hawking a holiday merch sale with a deep discount of 20 percent off one’s entire order. However, that’s not all that was mentioned in the posting.
The message also read:
“Yep. the Queens are deep into makin the new album. Locked away in the desert. & shit yeah. it. sounds. F—in. killer. “
It’s not exactly clear who posted the news, but we don’t care. We’re psyched! The band had previously promised that a new album would be done sometime in 2011. While the Queens have missed that deadline, it gives fans of their riffy, stonery rock something to look forward to in 2012. Loudwire doesn’t doubt that the new stuff is f—in’ killer. We expect nothing less than riffs and rock that will slay us ’til we’re dead.
Hurry up and finish, QOTSA.
