Plane Registered To Lafayette Corporation Crashes In Texas
Four people are dead today after there was a plane crash in Leon County, Texas. That plane is registered to a Lafayette company according to our news partners at KATC.
Officials with Louisiana State Police are working to notify family.
The plane was coming from Horseshoe Bay Resort Texas headed for Natchitoches, Louisiana when it went down around 10:45 this morning.
The single-engine plane is registered to KMAC Bravo LLC, which according to the Louisiana Secretary of State's Office is based in Lafayette.
Two men and two women are said to have perished in the crash; however, officials are still working on notifying next of kin so identities are not yet being released.
The crash happened around the Hilltop Lakes Airport, and officials with the Federal Aviation Administration will investigating the crash.
Officials say the pilot did report trouble before attempting to land the plane.
