Philip Rivers threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns, and the San Diego Chargers beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 38-14 on Monday night. The victory snapped a six-game losing streak for San Diego (5-7). Rivers completed 22 of 28 passes, including touchdowns to Vincent Brown and Vincent Jackson in the last 1:26 of the first half, after Jacksonville (3-9) had taken a 14-10 lead on Blaine Gabbert’s 5-yard TD pass to Cecil Shorts.
Rivers added a 52-yard scoring toss to Malcom Floyd in the third quarter. Chargers’ running back Ryan Mathews had a 31-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to cap the game’s scoring. Mathews ran for 112 yards on 13 carries and the TD for San Diego. Floyd caught four passes for 108 yards and a touchdown.
Jaguars’ running back Maurice Jones-Drew ran for 97 yards and added another 91 receiving yards and a touchdown on six catches.
