The city of Lafayette's contract with Redflex expired on Sunday, June 4th. The cameras  however, are still operating.

If they snap you speeding, or failing to come to a complete stop, will you get a "ticket" in the mail? Maybe, maybe not.

The Advocate reports, there is the possibility of a temporary agreement between the embattled service provider, and the city.

Meanwhile, negotiations are underway to find a replacement. All indications are, this will take several months.

Police presence is reportedly being stepped up. They write "real" tickets. If you don't pay one of those, you'll have a problem.
