Non-Profit SHARE! Southwest in Need of Acadiana Host Families for Foreign Exchange Students
Non-profit organization SHARE! Southwest is currently in need of your help in placing over 70 amazing foreign exchange students from all over the world for the 2021/2022 school year, and they're offering people in the Acadiana area the incredible, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become a Host Family!
Host Families are needed for teenage high school girls and boys from Italy, Germany, Brazil, Japan, Switzerland, Ecuador, France, Slovakia, and several other countries.
You can sign up to be a Host Family for either half of the school year or for the complete school year. SHARE! students attend the Host Family's local high school.
Students in the SHARE! foreign exchange programs speak English, are medically insured, and have their own money to spend on personal experiences.
You can even review student's applications to see which student would be a good fit for you and your family!
Families do not receive compensation for hosting students, but the experience is truly something money can't buy.
What Does it Take to be a Host Family?
For sharesouthwest.org -
"Qualities that are sought in a Host Family are friendliness, warmth, flexibility, and financial and home stability. The Host Family must also have the means to provide room and board for the student for the period of the student’s stay. The socio-economic or educational level of the family is not as important as the family’s willingness to share and learn with their exchange student."
Students may share a room with a same-sex family member, but it is only required that students have their own bed, a place to study quietly, and their own closet space for personal belongings.
