Friendly wagers are as much a part of football as, well, the football. The mayors of New Orleans and San Fransisco are keeping the tradition alive, with lots of food. Therein lies the problem.

According to a story out of the Associated Press, San Fran Mayor Ed Lee has pledged Dungeness crab, sourdough bread, Anchor Steam beer, regional wine and other San Francisco paraphernalia if the Saints win. For his end of the bargain, NOLA Mayor Mitch Landrieu raided the shelves of Schwegmans (HA!) to bet fresh Louisiana seafood, a king cake, New Orleans music, Abita Beer, Tabasco Sauce and other New Orleans goods.

It's lose/lose for New Orleans though. If the Saints lose, they're out of the playoffs. If the Saints win, they have to eat food from San Fransisco.
