Russell Brand has been filming an untitled movie from writer Diablo Cody (Juno) in New Orleans. On Monday, Brand decided he didn't want to have his picture taken, and snatched an iPhone out of a supposed paparazzo's  hand and chunked it through the window of a nearby building.

Maybe it's ok to do in Brands native England, but as it turns out that's not exactly legal to do here in the U.S. of A. He's now a wanted man as the New Orleans Police Department issued a warrant for Brand's arrest. From The Wrap:

"...the warrant has been issued for Simple Criminal Damage in the amount of $700.
A spokeswoman for the comedian did not immediately respond to requests for comment. But Brand appeared to make light of the incident on Twitter.
"Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iphone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory," the actor tweeted on Wednesday"

Some more info on the movie he's working on:

"The movie co-stars Octavia Spencer and Holly Hunter and centers on a plane crash survivor's crisis of faith."

Do you think ole Russell had the right to do this? Are paparazzo getting away with too much?
