The New Orleans Fire Department has been battling a 6-alarm building fire in a building on Canal Street in downtown New Orleans.

The fire is near the Roosevelt Hotel and part of the building that the fire is in has collapsed. So far, one firefighter has been injured by being burned on his hand, but that is the only injury being reported.

According to New Orleans Fire Department superintendent Timothy McConnell, one person was in the building when the fire started. He said the building is in "great danger" of collapsing.
