Every month we love looking at the list of next month’s new releases. However, in May our usual joy turns to fear as we hope that the taxman has left us with anything to spend on luxury items like CDs.

It doesn’t help this month, with so many quality albums dropping in the first few weeks. There’s enough to satisfy our diverse tastes, with new music from Norah Jones, Santigold, Keane and Silversun Pickups.

Hopefully we’ll have enough money left after those first two weeks, because the last three weeks of May offer plenty of quality, too. We’re especially looking forward to May 15, when Baltimore’s Beach House release their fourth album, ‘Bloom,’ and Best Coast put out their second, ‘The Only Place.’

May will finish up with releases by longtime indie favorites Gossip, Sigur Ros and Regina Spektor. We’ll also get to see if Kimbra’s commercial success in Australia and New Zealand will be matched in America thanks to her appearance on Gotye‘s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know.’ Her debut album, ‘Vows,’ will see its stateside release on May 22.
