The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested two New Iberia men as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

Sheriff's spokesman Maj. Ryan Turner reported 31-year-old Errol Robinson Jr. and 27-year-old Joshua Paul Arcement were arrested Wednesday at a Desire Street home in New Iberia.

Upon executing a search warrant at the residence, investigators located: 17.3 grams of suspected crystal meth, 4.6 grams of suspected marijuana, one gram of suspected heroin and three handguns.

Robinson was arrested and charged with:

  • intent to distribute schedule I (marijuana)
  • possession with intent to distribute schedule II (heroin)
  • possession with intent to distribute schedule II (crystal methamphetamine)
  • resisting by flight
  • possession of a fire arm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • monies derived from drug proceeds
  • possession of drug paraphernalia

Arcement was arrested and charged with:

  • possession with intent to distribute schedule I (marijuana)
  • possession with intent to distribute schedule II (heroin)
  • possession with intent to distribute schedule II (crystal methamphetamine)
  • second or subsequent drug offense
  • possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • possession of drug paraphernalia

Turner said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests may follow.
