When the Governor's Stay-at-Home order is officially lifted and Louisiana is allowed to return to work, what jobs will be available for those who need them? That's a question that many families across the state are asking as we move out from under the coronavirus pandemic and into the post-pandemic recovery for the state.

The Lafayette Economic Development Authority recognizes that many people are without jobs. Not only because of the pandemic but our oil and gas industry has taken a huge hit as well.

So, who is hiring, and during these pandemic times how can I apply for a job and get an interview?

Well, like almost everything over these past several weeks, job fairs are going online. In fact, the next virtual job fair is set for May 13th. That job fair will be hosted by Acadiana Workforce Solutions. If you're interested in registering your business to search for possible employees you may do so now. The actual job fair itself will be Wednesday, May 13th from 10 am until Noon. Job Seekers may preregister here.

The LEDA website also has a list of other job fairs planned for the area between now and August. In fact, there are several industry-specific job fairs planned in the coming weeks. It would certainly behoove you to investigate those or share the information with someone who might be looking for gainful employment.
