While much of Acadiana is in the beginning stages of recovery and clean-up, thousands of residents in Acadia Parish are nervously waiting for the Mermentau River to finally crest.

That, by the way, should happen sometime on Thursday somewhere around 11 feet. It currently sits just under 10 feet.

Our friend J.C. Webb has provided us with some amazing pictures from the rising waters in Crowley and Rayne so you can really get a visual as to what the situation is there.

These pictures were taken yesterday around those towns and at some notable locations.
