Mississippi State Bulldogs Sports Radio Calls Lafayette Trip ‘Worst Experience Ever’ [Video]

After having their hopes of getting to Omaha dashed by the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns over the weekend at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field, at least one Mississippi State Bulldogs fan–who apparently is a sports “journalist” for the Commercial Dispatch in Columbus, Miss.–referred to his trip to Lafayette, La. as the “worst experience I’ve ever had as a beat writer. Worst. Worst.”

During his nearly six-minute tirade, Matthew Stevens referred to Cajuns fans–as well as the general population of Lafayette–as being unintelligible and hard to understand, mentioning several times that “I can’t understand these people when they talk. I can pick out words and sentences, and I think I can figure it out. It goes over my head.”

Stevens also suggested Lafayette “is the worst place in America.” He said he drove around the city for 90 minutes in an attempt to find a neighborhood where he would like to buy a home and raise a family.

“I didn’t come up with one neighborhood that I would find decent enough and stay and live,” Stevens said.

A co-host also suggested that the Cajuns were the “missing link” in the evolutionary chain between apes and humans.
