If I were you, I would let your boss know about this immediately.

Microsoft Japan tried out a four day work week for the month of August. They let all 2,300 employees off on Fridays for that month, having a four day work week and three day weekend.

Productivity increased by 40 percent. Even though employees were working less, they were getting more done.

That's not the only way Microsoft benefited. Employees also took off 25% less days for vacation since they were already getting the three day weekend, they printed 59% fewer sheets of paper, and they used 23% less electricity.

You can imagine this big of a jump in productivity and more would make them want to try this experiment again. You'd be right. They plan on doing it again next summer.

Now, who is going to let their boss know about this like...yesterday?
